Abel Damina-Paul Enenche’s Controversy – A WAR in the body of Christ

There have been subtle counter replies from some preachers notably Paul Enenche of Dunamis Gospel Centre, Abuja, David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries, Port Harcourt and Jerry Eze, convener of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations, NSPPD to Abel Damina’s claim.

With the spree of happenings, the Christian community is under threat and onlookers will say the devil is laughing at Christians in the parade of confusion that has set in. Let give this commentary some scriptural background and than x-ray what is happening between Abel Damina and the other preachers.

Psalms 133:1 says ‘Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity’, this scripture shows that there is power. We discover that unity amongst a community brings progress and peaceful co-existence as we found in Genesis 11:6.

The following verse in Genesis 11 reads ‘Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech’. God came down to set confusion amongst the people for their evil imagination. The question is, is the devil deploying same strategy to hinder the expansion and revival in Nigeria?

Today, in Nigeria, we are enjoying tremendous revival and expansion of God’s kingdom.

Jesus praying in John 17:11b says ‘Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom they hast given me, that they may be one, as we are’, and repeats it in verse 21 ‘That they all may be one’. With this prayer, we are sure the devil will not have the last laugh, God will reveal and defend His own.

Abel Damina’s New Teaching

The Christian background of Abel Damina is now an open book on the social media, that’s not tue subject of this commentary, however listen to this (the video of the elderly man talking about Abel)

In a recent podcast with celebrities on a popular youtube channel, Abel Damina pours his grouse against the teaching of Pastor Enoch Adeboye of RCCG, Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners’ Chapel, Dr Paul Enenche of Dunamis Gospel Centre, Abuja, Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries, Port Harcourt and of course, Pastor Jerry Eze, convener of NSPPD.

While speaking on the podcast, the interviewers raised several issues with Dr Abel Damina. Some of his responses contradictory, others confusing and out of context to an unsuspecting listener who lacks proper foundational knowledge of God’s word.

The issues raised starts with tithing. Abel Damina says ‘tithe is not a new testament teaching’ but the earlier mentioned preachers say ‘it is a covenant practice that guarantee financial success for a believer’.

Indeed, Jesus didn’t teach on tithing or offering neither did He condemn it, see Matthew 23:23. But following, the steps of Abraham, believers pay tithe.

Abel Damina condemns the payment of prophetic seed or seed offering, list to what he says…

While, we agree that the term ‘prophetic seed’ is not found in the bible, it is a term and type of offering popular amongst believers. An offering, Abel Damina had received severally wherever he goes to preach, what went wrong?

An explanation, he cannot give a clear-cut answer. Jesus teaching in Matthew 10:42, says ‘And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward’.

See how Mark puts it, ‘For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward’ as found in Mark 9:41.

Could these passages with the use of the term ‘cup of water’ give credence to the phrase ‘prophetic seed’?

Also, Paul’s teaching in 1 Corinthians 9:11 ‘If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? The verse is self-explanatory, so, why is Abel Damina rising dust on the prophetic seed? Will return the ones he collected? or Will this biblical reference bring succor to he?

Abel Damina in that podcast, openly criticises Pastor Jerry Eze on his recently NSPPD prayer conference held in United Kingdom saying the miracles are ‘arrangee’ otherwise fake. To some, this is not surprising as Jesus Christ suffered same fate in his early ministry.

Reading through Mark 6:1-5 shows how people reacted to teaching and the mighty miracles He did. In verse 3, it reads ‘Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him’.

Is Abel Damina offended with Jerry Eze like Jesus’ contemporaries?

Before we conclude this commentary, the following scriptures should guide any discerning minds.

1 Corinthians 11:19, 2 Peter 2:1; 2 Timothy 4:3; Matthew 7:14

Why don’t he wait till the end of time, just as Jesus said it in Matthew 13:30 ‘let both grow together until the harvest and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn’.

On the last day, we know the tares and wheat until then – Abel Damina should concentrate the gospel of Jesus revealed to him and stop these controversies.

The teaching of Jesus in Matthew 5:22 – 26 at this time is very instructive. For Abel Damina and his likes before the judgment day. Why don’t he wait till the end of time,
