Was the comparison Saul painted between David and Goliath meant to encourage or intimidate David (v.33)? By sight, Goliath was mightier and incomparable with the little David.But in the spiritual realm, David who has God on his side, is unequally mightier that the Goliath. God is bigger and mightier than our “Goliaths”

Do not belittle yourself. Little wonder Paul’s advice to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:12 to be examples of believers in our Christian race just as David, though the youngest, led the armies of Israel in confronting and defeating the enemy.

What do you make of Eliab’s rebuke in v.28? Do you think there was a divine reason David came to the battlefield other than bringing food to his brothers?

Goliath was overconfident trusting in his human strength; stature, weapons, experience etc while Israel’s king and soldiers were afraid of the enemy, fearing and magnifying the enemy above their God but David was trusting and boasting of the unseen Almighty God.

The five smooth stones David picked, what do they symbolize? The bible states that the Word of God is the sword of the spirit (Eph6:7). Read the Bible everyday to feed your spirit with the Word of God.

Praise God for the resources He places in your hands and pray to be able to use them effectively to fight whatever battles the enemy brings your way.

‣ An understanding of the mind of God for you through the week, what sacrifice you can offer for others to be saved.
‣ Set your mind to the sacrifice of our founding fathers to sustain the work till now
‣ God’s help to give the desired sacrifice to keep the ministry moving
