TOPIC: KILL LAZINESS!
SCRIPTURE: He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame. PROVERBS 10:4-5
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be diligent is to kill the spell of laziness and indolence from your life.
It has been established that diligence is one of the principles of effective and productive living. When diligence is in place, heights are effortlessly attained. Your diligent work takes you to the top.
Now, what is diligence?
i. It is brutal commitment to duty. You are a diligent person if you are brutally committed to duty. Diligent people don’t exhibit haphazard or half-hearted commitment to their duty.
ii. It is giving the task at hand all you have got. To be diligent is to give the task of your life all you have got.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 says,
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
iii. It is the synergy of energy and strategy. Diligence is the combination or synergy of energy and strategy to fulfil destiny. Energy implies hard work. Strategy implies brain work. Diligence, therefore, is hard work plus brain (smart) work. There are people who work hard, but don’t work smart. They work very hard like those who push wheelbarrows, but they don’t work smart. They don’t engage their brain to work.
So, diligence is the synergy of energy and strategy.
iv. Diligence is allergy to laziness. To be diligent is to kill the spell of laziness and indolence from your life. In life, there is no shortcut to the top. Whether it is in the spiritual or any other realm of life, there is no shortcut to the top. People who are hard and brutal workers always arrive at the top in life.
Beloved, it is important to kill laziness out of your life.
Remember this: To be diligent is to kill the spell of laziness and indolence from your life.
ASSIGNMENT:
1. Kill laziness from your life by all means.
2. Replace laziness with hard work and smart work.
PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace for hard and smart work. Deliver me from any spell and attitude of laziness, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
